Lois, Wow, I don't know what to call it. Maybe the universe put a curse on him. It may be a different opinion for you, but in my opinion, he got what he deserved. My first husband after me, married a woman only nine years older than our daughter. I asked, "Why did you marry such a young woman?" He joked and said, "So she can push around my wheel chair." He had a stroke and brain surgery ten years ago and now has the mind of a five year old child. It became a true statement.

Regardless of my opinions, this is a well written and touching prose within a poem. Very nice. Carole

Loved it.
Honest. Pithy. Gutsy, especially since it was a portrayal of fact not fiction. Quatrain meter structure and the simple rhyme scheme made this a bold statement and confession.
Well done.

You tell a sad story in this poem. Marriage break ups are sad and when it happens because of adultery the bonds are broken. Therefore you didn't need to take him back and if you did as I think I understand it at the end, then you are a good woman to take care of him.

What mess our lives endure on a daily basis. Well crafted pain throughout this brave piece. I give five stars all the way through and your pain will flow freely from within. God Bless!

Takes a strong and determined soul to not only live through that - but to write about it as well as you did. She is the kind of woman I write about in my stories, but I usually disembowel those wretched souls. You've done a great job in this piece, I do hope it gives you even a small measure of relief. Blessings...AT=/

How chilling...so, is he alive? Did you take him in and nurse him back to health? Did he express any remorse/regret for what he did? You'll have to write the sequel!

No, he passed away after I took care of him for his remaining months. No, he couldn't get those words out, but he said one thing near the end that I keep with me. Blessings.

I don't know how you restrained yourself from slapping her...hard. what most impresses me about this personal poem is your tone, you not railing but allowing the b@$*h show her true character through well-chosen lines like "she smiled at me with thin cold lips" contrasted with " with trembling lips I had to say". Powerful, powerful piece and I hope you ate doing okay now.

Only her little cold hard mean smirk kept me from giving her that satisfaction. I wouldn't have on my conscience what she has for any amount of money...Yes, I decided that living my life without regrets was my victory. Thank you...

It's a game. To so many, life and love and relationships is just a game to be won, damn the consequences for others, then move on to the next conquest. Seen it more than a time or two and it is indeed devastating to many involved. Hard to believe that some people are so heartless and others so clueless. Dealing with it and moving on is about all that can be done. You've written a descriptive piece that conveys the emotion at the point of finally being able to let go. Well done!

LL, this is so powerfully written to tell of how a wife refuses to stoop to the level of revenge or hatred toward a woman who used her husband and discarded him when he needed someone the most. How blind lust can be when true love plays second fiddle. Effective words, rhyme and presentation. Well done. :0 GracieAnn

Hi Loanna,

I've often thought which one would be worse when you learn your spouse cheated - stranger - best friend?

For me, it was walking in on him and my best friend. No matter the time that passes, the happiness I know now, that picture comes back to mind's eye sometimes. But, since he has passed, I can appreciate what I thought I had with him, but really didn't.

I can savor what I have now - so real - so much better.

I hope you find something better - you deserve it, my friend. Take care.

Cheers & Blessings
Keep Smilin'.... Jax (*.*)

    Oh Jax,
I am sorry ...but grateful you have found what is real for you, friend. I have peace, if not someone beside me.
