It is always sad when we lose a loved one especially when they were our lover, our soul mate. We never see the world in quite the same light. The chosen photo was perfect for your poem.

Chilling quality, Steve. No breath's wind to disturb the silent art of the cemetery meets an account of the progression. Eerily it dazzles from beneath its shroud.

I like how the rhyme keeps your poem flowing well. I like the descriptive words you used to write about the valley is 'misty gown'. There are more too. The few alliteration spots are good too. Congrats on the awards. Good job and good luck in the contest.

You have poetically presented free flowing verse in ABAB solid rhyming. Beautifully penned, would make an excellent
spiritual verse one might see on a card at a wake in a funeral parlor. Colorful natural imagery is effectively employed.
Exceptional writing overall.

I love the way this poem has two separate rhythms, each one correct in it's own right. It makes an interesting read on both counts and delivers the ambience of the environment too.

6 it is!
Very very good.
The rhyme scheme was so strong and natural even with the pithy phrases and excellent word smithing. The quatrains flowed naturally as well and the whole expression had such depth of thought and meaning.
Well deserved.

I am torn between sorrow for the final imagery and reverence for the sentimentality of the opening three stanzas.

I guess that is the dichotomy of death - it fosters both keen loss and
cherished memories.

Your poem artfully melds these two into a psalm-like moment of heartbreaking
reverie that brings a lump to one's throat.

Beautifully written.

Loss and memories it is - nothing like that to tug on the old heart-strings.

I like the imagery, love the alliteration and assonance, and am sure you've got a strong entry here. I've never seen one leave your port yet that needed correction. Kenny
