As I read your poem it seemed to me to be a bursting dam that swept the reader along with the torrent. This piece held my attention from beginning to end though I found it to be quite sad.

Then there are those who suffer in silence and sometimes the pain is felt by those in close contact with the person who is suffering. The important message of the poem comes across loud and clear. People are suffering for various reasons. Then comes the demand "end the suffering".
Well done.

Quite perfectly put. We do try to contain it too. But it is a flood just as you have written it. It all affects someone else and in the end it affects us all. You do have the answer. Wonderful deserving of the win piece. mikey

Wow, I was touched by some of the circumstances in your poem we as human beings deal with day to day. The struggle seems to never end but eventually it does. As those comforting words quoted from scripture reminds us that "This too shall past". Life has its ups, and downs until soon it all turns around for us when one day we'll ask ourselves, "How did I get over?" God is how we got over as we are always tested in faith for a season and if God brings you to it, He can certainly can bring you through it. I enjoyed your poem as I reflect on some of the things in my past but praise God, I made it through. Thanks for the share and may God bless!

Definitely a contest winner.Excellently penned. My favorite lines were:
human suffering
domino effect
worldwide, everywhere
one person begins chain of events
'suffer the little children to come unto me'
end the suffering

The message is clear, a single person or circumstance can indeed trigger suffering for many and that is tragic.
But there is another side.
A single person or circumstance can set in motion things of beauty, e.g. a single rain drop can create a flow of water that develops into a stream. Or one person, e.g. Mother Therese can effect an entire city (Calcutta) by their efforts.
Please note, I am not attempting to detract from your poem which provoked reflection and pity. Rather I'm trying to promote the idea that life is not all doom and gloom.
A very good write

A very well written poem with a profound message. It is such a sad thing but an absolute fact, that when one person feels pain, for whatever reason, it is a domino effect and many suffer in the process.
One person's bad choice, never affects that person alone, but inevitably causes many others associated with that person, to feel the aftermath of the effects of that bad choice.
Great job! Deserves a six

Your words are definitely true. What a great glimpse of reality.
Well done. It is just too sad that people suffer at the hands of others.
