Your work alwaays makes me slow down and take a deep breath. I loved this, as I do with all the others, but this one just made me reaffirm my faith. I may have taken it further than you intended but i thought about how we can't sse heaven or God and yet I know he's there. Great poem.

This is so beautiful, Brooke, and I am all the way out of
sixes. I loved the way you worded it, and the rhyming was excellent. How many books of poems have you written? Or have you published these many fantastic poems?

Imaginative and skillful writing allows us all to see the world through your eyes.
The pull of the moon, creating tides, the weather, causing buds to bloom, and the darkness, without which nature could not exist, comes alive.
Excellent.

Oh, Brooke,

Your poems have such grand visuals. This took me away to the exciting world of the moon, and the tides, and the ocean, the fog and dawn.

Beautiful rhymes and meter.

Favorite stanza:

I couldn't see the moon tonight,
but I did not despair,
for waves kept rolling with the tides
to prove the moon was there.

This is just beyond there. It is a treat, every time I read your work. We are much alike in our poetry, and often like the same things. We both like nautical.

The system wouldn't let me give you a six, maybe I've exceeded my quota given to you, but it's a virtual six, my friend.

This could be a nature poem that gives hope for better weather or a metaphor for faith in believing things that you don't see that give you strength to go on.

It is a beautiful picture.

The poem flows well with the long short lines and the abab rhyme scheme.

Keep writing

Joan

A well-formed alternating 8/6-syllable poem in abcb rhyme. Your use of the somewhat archaic meaning of 'but' gives your poem a faint echo from an earlier age of romanticism when musings of this kind were common. When something that we know is there disappears, an element of doubt creeps in and it is comforting to see other signs indicating that it has not vanished forever.

Needless to say, this is a really classy faith poem. Though things can look bleak or the source is hidden from view, the workings of life are all around if you but have the interior eyes to see. Interior eyes? Well, you know what I mean.

A very lovely and uplifting piece. Beautiful description and examples of how even though we seem to be in darkness, it doesn't mean we are devoid of light. Wonderfully picturesque.

A beautiful poem about the moon and the elements associated with it. Loved the first four lines. Even though we can't see the moon we know it's there by the turning of the tide. Lovely rhythm and rhyme to the poem and the words just painted this incredible picture of beauty. Loved it. Genya
