I don't know Brian, Sandra, but I do know this. As much as you both obviously loved each other, I doubt very seriously that he would begrudge you a chance at having someone in your life who loves you dearly. In fact, I would bet that it makes him extremely happy to see you happy.
This was a poignantly beautiful poem, and so very well written. Excellent meter and rhyme...you should do extremely well in the contest.
Best of luck. :}

Thank you so very much, Dean, for your wonderful words. I have always felt Brian approved. The sun shone all weekend when I remarried, on the 13th (unlucky for some) of October, a month that is always cold and miserable! Thank you, again, my wonderful friend. xsx Sandra

What a wonderful tale of finding love a second time following the death of your beloved - with family and friends rejoicing - the pain and loss of widowhood is overwhelming - I am still coming to terms with being a widow 5 years on - Congratulations and best wishes.

What a beautiful and touching poem. It is very well written and heartfelt. I like your story told so poetically. You rhymed it well and it flows very smoothly into the next verse. It is a lovely poem about love, and so much more. I wish you well in the contest. This is a gem of a poem. Nice job! I really enjoyed reading it.

Love the art work that you chose for this writing. It's very colorful and soft. I also liked the poem mostly for its rhyming and rhythm.
I reached across and stroked the pillow case
And knew I would no longer see his face [these lines were deeply felt]

So you remarried? Why didn't I know that? Guess it never occurred to me. Or my tired old brain just forgot. What a beautiful story in this poem, all the more special because it's not fiction. Belated congratulations. :)

I am sure I told you, LOL, you are getting like me! Thank you, Phyllis. I was 39 when Brian died, I honestly never thought I would get married again. It's too painful when you lose someone you love. Then I thought, hang on, I could go first next time! Or something like that! Have you got my next page written yet??? xxxxx

No new chapter... might take a day off. I just got a diff idea for it and need to give it some thought. I don't know if Gary should find Tara on the bridge BEFORE she jumps, or arrive in time to see her leaping to her death.

You had me going there! Then I realised it was just Phyllis being...Phyllis! LOL xxx
