Beautiful heart-warming tribute to Brian. The road you traveled was not an easy one and it is by God's enormous grace that you area again blessed with love and companionship. I am sure Brian is smiling and thankful you are not alone anymore. AT=/

That is such a lovely review, and what a wonderful way to put it. I am sure Brian is happy for me, it would be just like him.

Sandra, this deserved the six for many reasons. It's written from the heart. The words explode from the page to me. They are soft, warm and tender and clearly written and with a rhyming pattern. Nicely done, John

John, that is such a lovely review, thank you so very much. My feelings for Brian never changed, and never will. I was so lucky to have met another wonderful man who understood that. A big thank you for the 6 stars, John! :) Sandra xsx

Wow, Sandra! Absolutely delightful. What a journey you have come on, and you tell it so poignantly in just a few lines of this lovely piece. Heartache and sadness, to renewed joy and hope, with a reminder of the importance of your children and grandchildren throughout the experience. Beautiful! I love this. And I am also so very happy for you...

Anthony

What a lovely review, and such wonderful words. Thank you so very much, Anthony. I have a lot to be thankful for and I appreciate every moment. Brian's death took me a long time to get over, I don't think you do, but you start to look to the future. A big thank you also for the lovely 6 stars! :) Sandra

Tis good that you wrote it as it was happening; some folks bury their heads and won't accept the inevitable. You were not meant to travel alone for the rest of time. Well done mate.

Thank you, Kay! That is so nice of you to say that. It took a while to make me see that it was alright to move on, a little bit. I'm sending you a big hug for the 6 stars! Thank you my friend. xsx Sandra

Hi Sandra,

What a lovely tribute to your deceased husband, as well as your now husband. To find love again when you didn't think it possible is a rare gift.

So happy for you. Good luck in the contest.

Cheers & Blessings

This brought tears to my eyes because I moved in with my Roomie in Virginia because she was widowed and needed help with bills. She was so in love with her husband. She is very loved and loves many people around her though I don't think she will ever marry again. He was her true love

I hope your friend finds peace. Losing someone you loved with all your heart is not easy to come to terms with. It took me quite a long time, but my sons gave me so much love and support at their very young ages and of course, Brian was very much in them in many ways. Thank you so much for your kind review, I really appreciate it. :) Sandra

A wonderful romance poem expressing the mind. Very descriptive and smooth in words presentation. I could imagine the effects of finding love again, it renews the heart. I love this poem.

This is a heart felt poem that may have been difficult for you to write. It is always emotional when someone share their feelings so deep. thank you for writing this very beautiful poem and letting others know that have lost their true love that it is possible to love again. Nicely done.

It is always hard, Lyngling, but as time passes, tears turn to smiles as you remember the love and fun times you had, and the silly things you did together. They take longer to come to you, I was so engulfed in grief, I couldn't see the nice things. Thank you so much for your lovely review. :) Sandra xsx

I loved your poem, I suppose there isn't a day go by that you don't think of your dearly departed husband, entering your mind, I, for one can understand that! It's nice the love happened again in the form of Graham, praise God for second chances! Nicely written, from deep within came your exultation, articulate and expressive, well composed and described, in good rhyming couplets, I enjoyed it Sandra! Well done, blessings, Roy.

No, not one day goes by without Brian coming into my thoughts. My sons are a big reminder of their father, they are a lot like him, and I know he would be so proud of them. Thank you so much for your lovely review, Roy, I am so pleased you enjoyed my poem. xsx Sandra

Ah, sandramichelle, the lament for a life's companion lost. So sorry to read it Your meter is lacking and the love/above rhyme is so overused it has become as disruptive as an infected earlobe but your thoughts shine through so in the Fan Story spirit, I assess it as a fiver.

LOL, Allister, I couldn't find another rhyming word that was suitable. SHOVE, that didn't sound right, GLOVE? perhaps, DOVE, again, overused. I can't think of any more. And, where is my meter off? I only ask because I am a stickler for perfect rhyme, I hate going back a few words because it didn't flow right. I always gratefully accept corrections. And finally, thank you so much for your review, I just had to laugh at your 'infected earlobe' I might steal that from you!!
Thank you, Allister. xsx Sandra ps. I haven't seen any of your writing for a while, are you alright? xxxx

Thanks for noticing 'infected earlobe'. Whenever I am about to use a tired cliche (like 'a sore thumb') I force myself to think up a replacement (sore earlobe) that I hope will become next year's cliche. If everyone did that think of all the great expressions we would have to use.

I cannot go in and find the meter problems (well I don't want to). It was just a feel as I read. Possibly I just missed finding the flow.
I am fine. I just got bored with the substandard poetry and prose on the site and stopped reading for a few weeks.

I am being much more selective and I now refuse to read and review that waterfall of boring 5-7-5 non-poems posted ... and I also stopped reviewing religious and romantic love drivel. Admittedly, that keeps me away from more than 50% of the poste but I am enjoying it much more.

You make my day, you always say what you think, which is refreshing. This is the first, 'love poem' I have written, I don't 'do' those either. I have NEVER written a 5-7-5 or any of those types. I like a poem that flows, rhymes and has some sort of story to it. I must try to think up some exciting cliché's I really liked your 'infected earlobe' I have been trying my hand at short stories, so something original like that would go down well. The stories are loosely based on the things I got up to when I was a child. How loosely, I'm not telling! :) xxx

Now I wish I was keeping records. I have created somewhere near thirty cliche replacements and some of them were zingers.

More zits than carter has liver pills=> more zits than needles on a Douglas fir tree. That is the only one that springs to mind and it ain't too impressive.

Thin as a rail=> Thin as a Christians excuse for sin. A bit better.
