This is a lovely entry for the Rainbow contest. I particularly like your third stanza - it tells in a very poetic way that when things are looking bad for you then the sun will shine again. A bit like every cloud (in life) has a silver lining. Good solid abcb rhyme scheme and I wish you luck in the contest. Warm regards Dorothy

The rainbow is God's promise never to destroy the world with water, again. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words. Good Imagery.

Hi,
I like how you reference the rainbow as part of God's plan, promise to us. Even by mixing the good with the bad times.
Love the artwork as well, with the rainbow on the ceramic cat.
Nice presentation. Good luck in the contest.
Cheers & Blessings

A belief in extra-worldly powers is so ingrained in America it astounds me. And all this Christianity is based on a bible that has such atrocities in it and describes such a vengeful and evil god I cannot but wonder how anyone can even have an interest in it, yet folks build their lives around it: amazing.

Ahhh, but content is always in the eye of the reader's point of view in the beginning. Content doesn't consist, sometimes, of what you bring to the reading, but what we each, as individuals bring. Is the belief ingrained , or is that an individual's right to search for his own meaning in what he chooses to hold as individual truth? I love the way you bring fresh thought to things. Thank you for sharing.

I liked this one.. I especially enjoyed the credit you gave to God for setting the rainbow as a covenant to man. Mixing the good and the hard times.. well penned.
Good luck,
Carolyn

This is a slightly different take on the rainbow theme. I like the way the message is internalized. We would all lead happier lives if we carried the rainbow within us day to day.

Very good poem. "His promise is rich as His rainbow.
His plan is as wide as the sea." The rainbow really is a wonderful thing when it is seen as part of God's promise.

This rhyming poem describes the essence of the rainbow. Rain and sunshine is the formula. That is, after all, the promise, not a cares free life.

I love the rainbow writing contest, never been in one though. This seems one of the better ones I've read. The art work is very clever as it resembles the colors of a rainbow.

Lovely affirmation of God's love for us and the support he showers upon us with out our asking. I particularly the phrase: By mixing the good and the hard times - grants a bit of a reprieve from simply thinking all times are hard. Very nice. AT=/
