this is an excellent write, mystery writer, everything God creates is for a purpose, and you have explained the tree's purpose as well, I loved to sit in a tree to read as a little girl. as a 50 year old, my tree climbing days are over. good luck in the contest.

That was so beautiful. Excellent use of 5-7-5, great visuals. A tree is certainly a gift from God. It's so small in your picture, but they grow! Years ago, I got my mother a tiny tree for mother's day. Couldn't have been more than 12 inches long. Now it's a huge blue spruce - my mother has been gone for years, but her tree lives.

A beautiful poem, well deserving of a win.
