Another tribute to nature and the endless variety of colors found around us. God must have known how mankind so appreciates the hues our eyes are capable of seeing. Your poem has a very upbeat tone with perfect rhythm and rhyme. A pleasure to read this one, Brooke. Blessings, Linda

LOL! He visits my lawn too often, but we gave up on killing the little "suns" and are learning to love them, thanks to your brainwashing.

Lovely idea, and very original. I can just see Him brushing the red and gold dawn across the sky, pulling up the sun. What a gorgeous time of day. :)

This is a nice write. But one thing I do know for sure-- he visited my lawn ... love those lines your aspect of color on earth is refreshing.

I like the line He painted the dawn, great use of description in your poem that created the image in my mind. I like that your poem is thought provoking. Great rhyme scheme used. Wonderfully written poem.

Another delightful poem that's sure to please children of all ages. I love ladybugs, and had one on my finger just a week or so back. It's looked like a twin of the one in your photo. Yesterday, I saw a powder blue bug on my garden wall, but couldn't catch it. A lovely colour though - just like your poem tells us, God created some wonderful colours for His creations.
I always delight in your children's Discovery Poems, Brooke. They make us look at our world with fresh new eyes.
Rose.

Oh, Brooke, it was so great! The lady bug in your picture attracted my attention (I love them!), and the poem was just adorable. Excellent rhymes and flow. Fantastic visuals throughout. I can see color from your words and they paint fine scenes.

Excellent closure in the last couplet about God visiting your lawn. Very creative and ingenuous. Excellent for kids 3 to 80 (smile).

Somebody who reviewed my poem on the Lakes said she had been to the Lakes and had called Britain the wet island. I said, true, but where else would you get such brilliant green vegetation from? I loved all the colourful descriptions you gave us in your poem, they truly are a wonder of Nature. Lovely flowing rhymes, super pic and most enjoyable. Faye

Faye, thank you so much :-) You're right -it's always a matter of perspective. I LOVE dandelions. I have a yuppie nephew who pays men with trucks and chemicals to kill his. Brooke

Awesome poem. There is something about polka dots that appeal to me always! The last stanza was my favorite.

When God first drew in color,
I bet He painted dawn,
but one thing I do know for sure --
He visited my lawn.

Well done!
