Is there a poet's mind and heart any more true than the woman's who wrote this poem? You can't judge her...but, dear one...you amaze and brighten and bring wonderful thought to life.

Not a wasted word or phrase. Every stanza provides a vivid glimpse of the process in slow motion, allowing the reader to observe, through vivid imagery, a slow death. I do not particularly like this form, it makes me feel like groundhog day, but usually read yours. Enjoyed this.

I thin this one is one of your best. I love the mention of the fleeting colors before they turn dark. Thanks for sharing. Terror

This is a beautiful poem. I especially love the rhyme scheme and how some lines were repeated throughout. Very well written, great job!

I love the fall...and your poem is just beautiful...I really like that last part...robes of death...sounds so horrible...but in reality its not....

Nobody dares defy Time's word,
but there's that spell that steals our breath
when Autumn leaves Time's passive herd
to toss aside her robes of death.

What a poetic way to describe Autumn time passing. I really appreciate your descriptions "until she's donned her widow's frock" and all verses are delicious but my favorite is the last one, especially - when Autumn leaves Time's passive herd to toss aside her robes of death." It's sumptuous, descriptive and poetic throughout. Well done!

I found this poem in tribute to 9/11 to be very moving. You forced me to access memories that I haven't taken out for a spin in a while. It was a beautiful morning. A morning that seem almost to have been painted by the Almighty himself. It couldn't have been more perfect. Sadly, had such a tragic event not occurred I doubt anyone would have remember the unique beauty of that day.

This poem is rather haunting with the repeated lines. The Grim Reaper was there on that day and he seems to drift about this poem at the words and phrases pass back and forth the beauty of that morning and the tragedy that later unfolded just as Autumn arrives in the splendor of astounding color only to disappear into the sterile look of Winter when all is gray before the snow falls.

Stirring imagery that begs to reader to remember vividly loss. Moving, provoking. Philosophical voicing, distant, pondering, observing...

You may have hit a nerve, deep penetration. Poetry should every now and again.

Worthy of a six and more...
