A perfect poem from such a skilled poet. This is quite a tale and very well written in old-style English. I don't know who my muse is, but there are times I would like her to take a break and let me sleep. Take care, my friend~Debbie

Indeed Poe could be your muse. If so you both do well in rendering this one. I loved Poe in high school and once had a pet crow named Smoky.

It does seem like he could be a muse of yours. But I think different poems have different muses. This is a well written ode to Poe with death in it also a lot of reverences to the poem 'The Raven'.

It would have had a good chnace in the contest.

Keep writing

Heh -heh -heh...I did so enjoy your poem, kind sir. This is so well-written, that Sir Edgar would be proud!(Sir Edgar probably would claim it as his own, pray- tell!).
An aside...my cousin owned a crow years ago, that played "The Raven "to the max. He would say over and over," Nevermore, nevermore, midnight; dreary, dreary". That crow was so smart! You need one, heh, heh, heh.

Hi Dean - Pity you missed the mono poetry contest. Very well done. Poor crows get such a bad press, oh and ravens! Poe has a lot to answer for. The line that made me laugh, so out of keeping with the rest of the poem is 'trapped as I am in this dingy bungalow'. Very good - enjoyed the read. Warm regards Dorothy

This is a fantastic poem from the author. This reminds me of the Raven and as such it is a great tribute to Edgar Allen Poe. Well done yet again.

Hi Dean, without a doubt, one of the best poems I have reviewed in a long time, the rhyming is excellent and to have every line ending in the same sound is incredible, not only that, the rhythm and flow are exceptional, of course a Po over here is a guzzunder (the pot to pee in under the bed), A beautifully written poem my friend, though I don't for one minute think you live in a 'dingy' bungalow, have a great day.

Sorry youu missed the deadline. It was very well-written and wouldhavee made an excellent entry. The rhyming scheme is exceptional. the imagery great. My favorite stanza was this:

By now, you may have guessed my fate, even so --

'tis here my shackled soul wavers to and fro,

trapped as I am, in this dingy bungalow,

a bard snared by ghosts of Edgar Allen Poe...

Well done!
