Dear Dean,

To be shackled in a bungalow writing macabre verse does carry thoughts of the sinister Poe. Maybe like others say he is your muse.

Warm regards,

Winslow

I'm sorry you missed the contest but pleased you shared your inspiration. I hope the doctor's appointment was uneventful or brought good news. I liked your playing on the supposition that Poe is your muse and your adding the perfect musical selection to heighten the association. Your work is a tour de force with none of the rhymes feeling forced (excuse the pun). I salute the "tell-tale bard" in you! More than "once upon a midnight weary," Poe would be pleased and proud to know that he has inspired you. Many cheers- Joan

Dean,

LOL Chosen explanations are made very clear and descriptive. Atmosphere is full of vivid and delightful descriptions. Comprehensible and very professionally written. Exceptional.

I saw no SPAG and no typos. It was very clean.

I look forward to seeing you again.

Love you,

Oatmeal

I loved it. This was a very slow read and I could feel the goose bumps starting to dot my arms. Now I have a challenge, kind of. Write a bed time story but with a sinister twist. Like an old man telling his grandchildren about a monster that snatches children from their beds and it turns out to be him. I hope you do this, because I love your stuff. It can be a poem/story or a regular story. Gretchen

Thanks, Gretchen, and I will take you up on that challenge. I hope I do it justice.

Have you ever hear the poem, "Little Orpahnt Annie", by James Whitcomb Riley? Check it out sometime, and do a Google search on it. Talking about giving you the chills! B-R-R-R-R-R-R-R!!!

I love your poetic offerings that reflect the modern day Edgar Alan Poe Dean Kuch. Your poems have decidedly dark beauty, and you say say you near death death experience was the reason for the venturing, a lot of people reform, become lovely people, but you went to the " dark side", interesting! But it doesn't detract from this great poem, illuminating the twin character of POE and Kuch. I've been meaning to ask, was your name change, Kuch is that a derivation from Kuche, German, meaning kitchen? You can tell me to mind my own business, if you like, well done, Dean, blessings, Roy

Dean: of course, we both know that this poem, inspired by your muse, Edgar Allen, is worthy of more than six star but five are all I have. I give you all I have. It's night time and dark, I'm here all alone except for my very small canine companion . . . did you really find it necessary to scare the hell out of me?? And, once again, I say, there are NO pleasant screams! So, what did your cardiologist have to say to you? Linda

Ha ha, thanks, Linda, and no sixes are necessary, my dear friend. I've used up my meager allotment this week already as well.

My defibrillator wasn't picking up remote signals, so they had to do a bit of tweaking there. Other than that, I'm as fit as a fiddle.

    Thanks for the thoughtful review. :}

Poe is certainly one of my favorites. He was actually quite a spiritual person and believed, as many do, he was tormented by darkness because of his deep faith. This is an exceptional write and would surely have won had it been entered. Nicely done and I thank you so much for sharing this with me.

You are a pro, Dean. Love the music that you chose to go with. It suited the write and didn't interrupt my flow of thought as I read. Now, I cannot understand how so many words rhymed extremely well. Kudos, to you !!!

Aw-w, you are too kind, Drew, but I'm really pleased that you enjoyed the overall presentation. Had it made in into the contest in time, the music would be absent. Many feel that it is an electronic signature if you use it, like signing your name to your wirk so everyone will know. But, I didn't make it back in time, so the music was left in. I am really glad that you liked it.! :)
