Hi Brooke A very interesting form of poetry. The more I read it the more I understand. The rhymning pattern is very clever.I think it needs to be read out load to get the full beauty of the verses. Cheers Gaye

Every line works well with that glorious photo.
I still want to be believe that those lines are true but too many people have gotten in the way.
You try to do your very best but you can't please everybody especially family.
I hope somebody has the life in these lines.

So strong, Brooke. I just love the questions, the 'pondering of life' and our purpose or reason for being. I like how you've managed to incorporate some Shakespearean flavour into the stanzas.
How lovely, that Miranda is named after one of Shakespeare's characters.

Brooke,
That is an awesome picture. No truer words to live by. If we really are just living according to a script then there would be such thing as free will. Thanks for the inspiring words.
Love,
Barbara

This is an interesting question, I feel we all have choices if we look hard enough, great wording and excellent rhyming as always, I really liked it,

You ask some very good questions here, Brooke. If that was our purpose in life, then I would not want to play the game. But fortunately, we do have choice, we can choose to ignore the puppeteer. Another lovely poem, Brooke, and love the photo. :) Sandra

Great poem of reflection especially the thought you express with the question in verse 2. Free will would rule out we have a grand puppeteer. But we need direction whether we like it or not.

Great poem Brooke, and so recognizable... Once I lived such a life, did what they expected from me. Others ruled and lived my life. It became a habit, living like this and you really feel like a puppet on a string. But not anymore, thank God!!!
Smooth flow, great rythm and rhyme and such a pleasure to read. Fia

Interesting philosophical poem that raises questions that we might not really be able to answer. if we have no say in the paths that we choose; then we cannot be punished for the choices that we make because then in reality, they were not ours to make.I daresay no life has a script.....from which we cannot stray. Lovely picture, enlightening author notes.Great job!

Free will versus a predetermined and orchestrated existence. Much debate about such things. I once wrote a story on this topic (Predetermined). I like your cynical yet somewhat hopeful outlook (if you look deep enough).
