I've always found it very difficult to write smoothly metered octograms, but you're an expert at them, as proven here, Brooke.
Excellent personification of the spider, plus top metaphors.
Nice one!
Cheers, Ray xx

Whoa, Brooke it almost sounds like you're gearing up
for the Halloween season already.
Nothing wrong in teaching the earthier facts of life,
though. Very creative with your 'eve' sounds, I do believe.
Peace, Lee

How I enjoyed this wonderful poem, Brooke, the images of the spider web and bee are lovely, and I love the repetition of the word believe.
Smiles,

Great genre.
This child is a doll.
Love the look on his face.
We haven't been to that part of Canada yet but do plan to go.
This poem encompasses the joy and fun of childhood.

It's a pleasure to be back online and reading your poems. Yours is the first I clicked on. This was a lovely read with an almost whimsical tone. A pleasure as always.

Nature presents the eye with light miracles and dark miracles. There really is a sadness in that something as beautiful as a shawl with dew sparkling in its weave could be so deadly. I can feel the " I can't believe".

An octogram to start the day
To bring a smile
Where frowns once were but can not stay
A longer while
For Brooke will make them disappear
And bring to all a ray of cheer
I'm through counting syllables now.. Well done as always, Buck
