Brooke, I am always so impressesed at how your poems never fall into sugarbowl sweetness. This poem is a good example of how the addition of info and a bit of sarcasm blend in just enough spice for a tasty mixture. Elaine

Ah, what a fun little piece. I liked how your rhymes really seem to echo the words of my small boy discovering the joys of a sun beam. A beam that is reflected in the eyes of some one happy to see him. This is such a joyful poem. Good stuff there, Brooke.

What a sweet expression of delight at seeing a sunbeam. Excellent attention to detail with the exact distance between the earth and sun added expertly into your rhymes. Now who would have thought to add scientific facts to the wonder of it all?The closing line just makes me want to say, "Ah, that is so nice!" Great job, Brooke.

Greetings adewpearl,
What a delightful poem and so well formed, I think it has to be one of your best... thus the six. I rarely give those and perhaps that is my failing, but I could not resist with this one. Very well done! (Hey! That rhymed!) ;) Chrisfiore

I think one of the reasons children see so much that we no longer see is because in their own innocence they see with the eyes of the heart. Your words capture it. Sawyer's wonder illustrates it.

You are truly a great talent. This is another beautifully crafted poem. I like how you take the smallest, thing we all take for granted and weave a spellbinding tale. Excellent.

Hi Brooke
Just lovely. Certainly we see sunbeams in Sawyers eyes .... he is so loved and full of love. I love your theme and so brilliantly performed with excellent rhyme. Another gorgeous image. I thought I took a zillion photographs of my first son .... Miranda must have a mega photo library. So nice to be able to see them on the computer now.
I just opened a large box not unpacked since we moved. Full of photos from my thirties ... what a scream I've had going though them and reliving memories. Now they all need to be loaded on the computer ... :)))) Phew what a job and there's more.
A great poem which I've enjoyed very much. Warmest hugs - Lovinia xoxoxo

Just on their one week Canada vacation she took 2200 pictures - not all of Sawyer - she got some mountain peaks and flowers and elk, but I think it's a safe bet he's in more than a thousand of them. LOL Thanks so much, Lovinia :-) Brooke

Yes, there's something in a grandchild's smile that makes Grandma's extra-happy. Just got back from NYC a couple of weeks ago and the smiles and shenanigans warmed this Grandma's heart. But half a day's tantrums over not wanting to eat ONE blueberry? *giggle* :D Nancy

Nancy, thanks so much. Yes, unfortunately sometimes the little cherubs decide to have a demon tantrum. LOL :-) Brooke
