This is a very nice effort, but it is not a 5-7-5 poem. If you click on the contest site, it explains what is required. You need three lines only. The first and the third with 5 syllables each, and the middle line with 7 syllables.

And sometimes holding on just isn't enough , no matter how hard one tries. sometimes life just overwhelms us regardless. Very nice, free flowing piece that reads well and is easily understood.
