I like writing poems for children and I really enjoyed your poem. It's a good story with a good message. Your rhyme sceme and rhythm add to the read of the poem. Very well done.

I really enjoyed reading this poem! It was sweet and funny and it rolled off the tongue. It's totally delightful. I'm sure kids love it, too. I look forward to reading more of your writing here, as I also love to write rhyming children's poetry.

funny with the 4th dimension of reality (that's where parents believe they'll bring their dreams to their children actually thinking it will work) your consistency within lines as well as words were loudly heard. because we need to critique... you have an extra space between the second and third line from the bottom::)...pamela

This was a excellent poem and I can see why it was chosen as the poem of the month. I love the story and the contrast between father and son. No doubt it is that way nowadays few follow daddy's footsteps. I was smitten by the storyline, the rhyme and the ending. All the best and God Bless

Awesome! The story is enchanting, the poem flows nicely, and the words tickle my fancy. The child's name alone is a work of art. This review was worth doing for one point and 2 member cents. :)

Hello there,
thank-you for your exciting piece of writing. The rhymes are very good.Did you know, that there is actually a real creature just like the one on the photograph, that really exists?I saw one in the nineties in the jungle in Thailand.
It was so big ,and quite scary looking,so I just stayed very still. Then it just disappeared back into the undergrowth.Shame I didn't get a picture, but it's true,it was about 1 metre tall, and built like a rhinoceros. It was greyish black and had a huge frill around it's neck. What an amazing experience!I was lucky that it didn't hurt me though, huh?

Little runaways some times learn hard lessons and your poem details this message crystal clear. Easy to see why it is an All-Time Best. Write on.

This sounds like a version of Oz. He was dreaming of the forest and the triceritops.
It sounds like a childhood fantasy to be brave but not follow the father's lead. It shoes that children can be opposites of their parents. It also shows the importance of the reality of home.

This poem read very quickly for such a long poem. Its meter pulls you through it.

I like the alliteration in the name.

Keep writing

Joan
