What a great, sweet story. Yes, they are family. It is hard when they go. But you have to remember the many years you and they were together. I love your story. The picture is great. Dogs are much smarter than humans believe. Good story. Great flow. Good job and good luck with your entry. I see no changes to suggest. I love everything about it.

This is a very sad and sweet one. Clearly, you and your wife loved this little girl a great deal.
A few grammatical suggestions, if you will:
- I'd switch the word 'covers' to 'blankets' because you use the word covered in the very next line.
- I could get anything I wanted (tense)
- Victoria's Secret (possessive)
- tattered they were, (comma) right to...
- she did become (no comma) my best friend.
I thoroughly enjoyed this piece. It is focused and well-paced.

I especially like the part about her pushing the chair up to the table to get the chicken. They are such smart creatures; so how do they keep looking so innocent?

w.j. ... They look so innocent because they are. Just like little children until the adults starts to make up there minds. Puppies are like kids. We gotta love them and treat them with kindness.
