What tricks puppies get up to and yours was no exception. What a cute dog, I am crazy about all dogs. Cute rhymes about her escapades and a fun read. Good luck in the contest. Faye

this is a beautiful write, jmdg, I love the line about God calling her home for dinner, that made me remember the dog I had to put down. I wish you the best of luck in the contest.

John, you are such a softie! This is an inspired and sweeter than sweet poem about a breed of dog that to me will always be Snoopy! At least Mindy only took the chicken leg; my Toby took the entire chicken! Excellent rhyme here.

Softness comes with age. Oops. You know what I mean, right? Haha

When it comes to dogs I'm the biggest around. I love them all. They are do much fun! Was Toby a beagle? Thanks for reading, sharing and enjoying. John

Oh boy, I know what you mean.

Toby is a designer x breed that I was talked into because my sister could two puppies cheaper than one; I was missing a dog I'd just lost - and ya, well, Toby's my guy. He's not yet two yrs. 50 lbs of love on 4 legs!

    Hope you're well.

Aww, this is such a sweet poem. Who can resist writings about our beloved pets! It's so charming that you relate all the fun (although naughty) antics. Our pets do go to heaven - my avid belief. Hugs, Lou

Those naughty antics was what made it do cute and fun. Then she'd sit on our lap and kiss us.

Thank you for reading, reviewing and sharing. John

jmdg1954: She is a cutie and I know the joy of a good, loyal dog. I have a Pomeranian. She lived a long and very good life with your family; this is apparent in her last words to you in this poem. You'll always remember her and will see her again one day. Nice writing. livelylinda

Yeah, we have a tendency to spoil our dogs. I should be as lucky!

These pet tributes are always so touching. This one to Mindy is no exception. I love the way you caught her best antics(chicken leg and panty stealing) in verse. I saw her doing both of them. Precious picture--what eyes. Who could resist?
Best of luck in the contest, my friend.

A great entry for the contest, John. The verses are emotional and true for any dog lover. We had to put our Beagle down last November after only 8 years because of a brain tumor. But we have another Beagle now because they are such fun, loving dogs. Good luck in the contest.
Smiles,
Indy : )

Indy, I was hoping you would read this. I knew you had a Beagle. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I hardly ever dabble in poetry, but this seemed like a fun contest so I had to give it a try.

What color is the new Beagle? He or she? Name? I need details!!

    Thanks once again. John

She's a tricolor small beagle. Her name is Madison but it's Maddy unless she's being devious. lol

Ah, she is running over the Rainbow Bridge, chasing her friends, no pain, no rain, no staining the rugs, just tons and tons of human hugs. Good job.

I like that, Rainbow Bridge. Can I use that sometime down the line?
