The little song we sang in church was count your blessing , name them one by one, look around you and see what God has done. Beautiful photo. Don't look now Brooke, but you heart is showing. Shalom my friend.

Excellent acrostic, Brooke, and each and every line makes sense, and makes a dramatic, huge impact.

Nicely done, and although I have a dog (and I'm sure the vaulted FanStory committee will rate it as such) in this fight as well, I wish you the very best of luck in the contest.

If only, cruel fate...

That is the truth. I can't imagine not loving or wanting to be with my children. I have a friend who just walked away from her family. Her reason, to get herself together, she needed 'me' time. I just couldn't believe it. Wonderful sentiments and the picture was perfect. Sawyer is one lucky kid.

Gretchen, thank you. I agree, I know of people who decide to pursue some dream or other - all I ask is that they pursue their damn dreams before they have the kids! Brooke :-)

Fantastic Acrostic on My Family.
Some are born blessed and others seem to have been treated unfairly.
Those who are fortunate can do some little gesture to help the not so fortunate

The love in your family is so obvious, Brooke. You are right, there are many children out there who are not loved. And there are those, of course, who are also abused.

Your impactful poem has a great flow. I like the rhyming couplet in the beginning rather than the end. Your alliteration enhances the flow: fate/refuses/fair.

I love the picture! Sawyer is one lucky boy :) Good luck in the contest. Alana

Great happy, loving family picture, Brooke.

EVERYONE deserves 'love'. and if that was the case, the world would be a far more peaceful and contented place.

Very well expressed acrostic.

Best wishes, Ray xx

Your Acrostic Poem contest entry is fantastic. This entry follows all instructions to the letter. It is a well metered and rhyme poem about your family. Good alliteration with fate/fair. What I liked the most is the use of "s" throughout the poem to give that special melodious cadence.

Brooke, nice entry to the acrostic poetry contest.
Yes, it is so sad when some children don't have
people who treat them right or take care of them.

Brooke: It breaks my heart, too, but makes me so happy when I see a picture like this one of your family. Are they all aware of how lucky they seem to be? Lively poem. Linda

Linda, thank you so much - Miranda and Andy are both so grateful for the life they have together as a family. Sawyer is so little that he has no idea he is lucky - I'm sure he thinks all little children live charmed lives just like he does. How sad he will someday be old enough to realize the harsh aspects of life... Brooke

There is nothing as heart-warming as a family that cares and shares love. Even hardships can be borne without fear if one can face them with the backing of familial love.

A great topic for an acrostic, Brooke - and one with rhyme sprinkled in for some flavour.
PS: Love that shot of the Rockies in the background.

Rose.
