Such a happy looking family. You are truly blessed to have this. As you seem to be saying in your poem, far too many people never know the love and commitment to each others happiness that should come with being part of a family

This poem moved me to tears, it is unfortunately so true, my father died at age 31 , leaving my mother with four children ages six to one month , me. They adored each other, but not all is fair in life. Delightful poem expressing deep appreciation of what is a true treasure . Beautiful picture of your delightful family. Pili

A sad theme to this one but it is a truth of life. Too many children have to grow up not knowing their parents..
An extremely smooth flowing acrostic that should do very well in the contest, Buck

Yes it breaks my heart too! I know of a two year old who's going through a rough time with Mommy and Daddy, it's so sad.
Thanks for the wonderful Acrostic poem and you have a wonderful family, too!

The strength of this poem is in the sharp contrast shown between those, like Sawyer, who have, and others who have not. My wife is a social worker in the field of child protection. It is heart-breaking work. It can be so hard to comprehend the frayed bonds of families split asunder. Your combination of rhymed couplets with the acrostic form make a much better poem than a stand-alone acrostic. Not my favourite form, I confess!

thanks so much, my thoughtful friend - I write an acrostic twice a year for the site-sponsored contest, which shows how much I love composing in this form LOL :-) Brooke

Don't follow that train of thought too far, it leads only to grief. Such a world we live in. Your acrostic rhyming
couplets seem fine to me.

Hi Brooke, this is a lovely acrostic poem with a poignant reflection on the importance of love and family for everyone--especially children. The lines read naturally and the rhyming couplets were well done. A beautiful wish for all humanity.

Hi Brooke,
WoW! What a great pix. Such a happy, bubbly family.
You're right, so many families are dysfunctional, or unhappy for some reason or another. It is so refreshing see successful/happy marriages and families these days.
Blessing to you and yours, my friend.
Good luck in the contest.
Cheers & Blessings
Keep Smilin'.... Jax (*-*)
