Oh dear friend, what a wonderful acrostic, and your wording just couldn't be any better. What I like the most is the flow from one sentence to another, and not easy to do! I tried, and finally gave up, lol. You are such a sweetie for thinking of us, and although we all write in a different style, we are still a family. Our poetry brings us all together. I just don't see how this could fail to win the acrostic contest. You've caught the spirit of FS exactly, it seems, in such a pleasant, appreciative way, and still met the demands of this challenge. Congratulations on a job so very well done. I especially loved the alliteration and the inner rhyming. It made the poem fun to read aloud as well as silently.

Thanks for your honest response. I am assuming the four star rating is because you disapprove of the 'patriotic' tone? (Which is actually quite out-of-the-box for me--not my usual style). It is a 'tribute' poem, so that tone is intentional. Anyway, thanks for taking time to read and comment honestly. I appreciate it.

This is clever, creative and so nice to read! I am in total agreement with the sentiments expressed here, and I was quite impressed with how naturally the lines flowed, one after the other in perfect sequence, making perfect sense. (Of course, I would expect that from rd.) In so many acrostics, the sense seems to be distorted to fit the necessary letters. Not so with this beautifully done acrostic. Thanks for the author notes too. I feel like part of the family. :p This was a delight to discover this morning.
