What a fantastic and enjoyable children's poem, perfect for a story book. Such jolly rhythm is attractive to children. They enjoy it and the images are so attractive on them, Giddy

Great word choice in this delightful poem
about rain and its aftermath.
Excellent AABB rhyme
Good use of onomatopoeia with "plop"
and alliteration.
A charming story about the worms that magically
turn to golden flowers in the child's mind.
What fun! Nancy

ha ha - gold lawn of dandelions:) This is a very cute children's poem. I keep telling you Brooke, you need to put together a book of this or write a children's book for each poem - you just need an artist for the pictures.

I love the smell of rain and can't wait to smell it again. It is very dry and windy here at the moment, which means a lot of dust. This is very well written. Good luck.

This piece of writing could definitely be turned into a children's picture book, if you were so inclined. The rhymes are strong, and I can picture it being broken into wonderful pages with illustrations. Good writing!

What a lovely sound. Great rhythm and flow throughout. This also reminds of a Beatles song, "All Together Now" was in the movie "Yellow Submarine" Also has counting in it as you so. Fantastic sounding. Would be great for a recital. Superb!!!!!! Les

I remember my dear mother calling our activity of a bowel movement as 'plops', when we were kids, Brooke, so thanks for that fun memory. :-)

VERY cute entry for the contest which I'm, sure would 'make children smile' - it did me, too.

Good early educational element with the counting, too.

Good luck and best wishes, Ray. xx

Thanks so much, Ray :-) Luckily, Ollie the Owl won't be judging this particular contest, so I don't have to worry about being eaten. LOL :-) Brooke

Oh, dear, is Sawyer's area having a drought. Not so nice. Loved the poem with all the good visuals of worms coming out to chat and then there is just gold all over the place. Nice imaginary poem for a child. Best wishes for the contest. luv jada.
