I did miss the weekly picture of Sawyer, but the poem more than made up for it. It was a wonderful poem about how the world is magic if only we let it be. Great rhythm and the happy scene unfolds before the reader. Gretchen

Lots of raindrops keep falling on my head, just like a fool, shoulda' stayed in bed. Puddles round me ankles - socks hanging low, wish this bloody rain would turn to wind and blow! Magic wizards all gone home - spent their gold on their cell phone. Grandpa and Grandma were wise in many ways, they wore Wellies and Grandma wore her stays.' The worms crawl in and the worms crawl out - look out Sawyer...Nana's about! LOL.

This is very good. At first reading, I thought it a wonderful repetitive (positively) poem in the way that it could be chanted or even sung, so lyrical was its making. Wonderful.
After reading a while I then thought it more of a listening poem rather than an interactive one because of its length.

A good entry. I read one I thought was a winning entry chance...I now second this as another.
Well done.

This is marvelous. I enjoyed it so much. Excellent rhyme, and terrific rhythm too. This is a wonderful entry for this fun contest and I sincerely wish you all the best. We had almost no rain last year and the past week we have had at least 7-8 inches, possibly more. The streets have been like rivers and a few cars have floated by my window...obviously small cars but floated by all the same. I wish I had a camera to prove I am not exaggerating...lol

This is a guaranteed prompt entry winner. You are in league all by yourself! The message is clear: I can see the child smiling at the magic of the Wizards golden lawn. Exceptional! God bless and the best of luck!

Brooke: it is always the children who actually see the fun within a rainstorm, once the lighting and thunder pass, anyway. And then there are the new things to explore which the rain has left . . . a new world for their inquisitive minds. You have it all here, in this delightful poem. Linda

It has a little bit of everything for kids, the counting, the nice alliterative sounds of the creatures in the garden, fast pace and great rhymes. Your grandson will love this. Teaches them about the wonders Nature creates in the garden. Most enjoyable and good luck in the contest. Faye

Love your write on rain.

Would love to experience it here. Now, we not only have the drought, but a bit of shake and bake. After that 6.1 Napa quake this morning, have been waiting for a little shaking here.

I never worry for myself ... it is always the kids and grandkids I worry about. I know that you do too.

Here's hoping that all of our beloveds remain living on solid ground.

Sorry, this review did get soooooooo far away from your wonderful quatrain. Hugs, your rambling fan, d

Thanks so very much, Diane :-) I appreciate your sixth star. Yeah, nobody wants walls falling on their kids and grandbabies!! As for the drought, I've heard about no relief in sight. I don't know if little Sawyer even remembers the rain, though he did get drenched for the ALS ice bucket challenge - cutest video ever LOL :-) Brooke

You have a wonderful ability to place yourself in the mind of a child and then put that perspective down in flawless form. Excellent!
