Excellent

I know having a spouse serve in the military puts everyone under pressure - but I simply cannot imagine receiving a Dear John letter while protecting my country on the field of valor. Is there no way to hold it together until the family reunites - but I digress...I think it is vitally important.

I like the structure of this work - I remember all the good times to the final "let them know I died a broken man forever away".... that is heartbreaking. Very lovely work. AT=/

I must admit speed-reading through this once I realized it would be a litany of personal remembrances of a life of little or no general interest. The last line does not ring quite true because even in the depths of despair the guy had to know that such a message would never be delivered.

But you prose is excellent.
