It's been a lifetime since I've heard any mentioning of Quaaludes. lol OMG how things have changed. I loved going to your part of life through this poem.
I miss the past too.

I love the picture. I love the story. You may miss the good old days but it is good they did not last. You may not have lived through too many years of those wild times. Great work. Good luck in the contest.

What a fun contest! I love the Eagles, love the fact the contest is not blind, and am enjoying the different interpretations of the titles. Yep, I'm a sicties girl myself and remember those days well. My first husband was a good friend of Santana and he owned a restaurant in Seattle where Santana and his band performed for a small private audience in his "first" heyday. I remember dancing on the tables. My best good luck wishes in the contest. Sue

This is a clever and joyful entry to the contest! Just the right amount of nostalgia as you look back on the good old days. Love that closing line with the play on words 'just dessert'! I hadn't heard of Quaaludes before - but now I know!

Sowing wild oats and whooping it up is what this is all about I suppose. The writer sounds a bit over proud of what is essentially foolishness and there is always a danger of allowing such actions to be the peak of human endeavor rather than the beginning of a coming of age and future personal achievement.

You are so right! This can become a problem. I was lucky and came through with my college degree in applied science and went on to lead a productive life. That's what makes me proud. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!

Hi Jandeck,
I must be the 'Odd man out,' because I would NOT want to go back to those days. I hated being a teenager in the 60's. I was country all the way.
However, you wrote a good story. Good luck in the contest.
Cheers & Blessings

I totally understand! My brother was country all the way, also. Growing up in the sixties could be difficult. There was a lot happening. Thanks so much for your kind review!
