The use of soft words in this piece is like a lullaby - yes, lulling one to a restful slumber. Night - the time for renewal of both body and mind. Like another poet said, sleep - the balm of woe, a prisoner's release. But isn't these hold true for all of us?
It is no wonder that our poet has called night "favorite time of day." But it is a wonder with a different twist, enjoyed in passivity. By comparison, our usual favorites involve all our senses. Night and the accompanying sleep becomes more enjoyable the more we are "dead to the world." It is strange but by waking up and feeling more alive, night is indeed a blessing.

Thank you so much for the additional thoughts about night. I had not quite thought about the gift of being "dead to the world" and how that impacts our sense of being alive. thanks! Caroline

I think this is the best poem I have read today. Quiet simple yet striking. The style I liked, a stanza then strong one single line. I do not give 6 lightly but you very well deserve it.

I loved your creative, poetic interpretation of the night, Zinnia.
Excellent enjambment to keep the continuous flow of thoughts streaming smoothly.
Nice use of metaphors and creative expression to enhance the feeling and mood of your piece.
Great examples of alliteration with "stars slipping in
sprouting", and "A nocturnal nest."
Lovely presentation, and the best part of all? It's about the night!
Excellent work.

This is a great poem. I can feel the healing processes at work as the artist folds and presses. Like the painter or the poet the artist that uses the medium of Origami leaves their mark on society. Well done.

Beautiful descriptive poem. Figures of speech are great--excellent. The picture of the night and format are pretty, supplementing each other. Author, I suppose has good command of the language and the poem in its entirety is tops. Congratulations. Dom

I too love the night, I do observe the sky particularly when I can see the planets, an exhilarating experience.
