excellent alliteration in remembrance reduced - good assonance too
strong imagery in your opening lines
thunder and lightening - lightning
compelling social commentary on how protests have gone wrong in this situation - I protested the Vietnam War long ago and made the same complaint about some protesters, who became obscene or abusive to soldiers - the last people I had anything against.

How true this is, its been going on for such a long time now and we havent even noticed the erosion of our values and belief systems. Its never possible to go back so we have to find a different future. And yes, everybody loses. Sad. You write so descriptively I found myself reading this over again.

"Everybody loses" Would you say the we're in Touch and Go?! So long, nuke power has been available...Pray and pray on bended knee, wearing out the carpet, but what's gonna Go is gonna Go! We are oh so powerless...Who in this world can take a stand like Martin Luther King?! I don't see anyone on the horizon. Not really.
