What a lovely description of a carefree day of a child playing on the beach in the summer. Playing in the water, building sand castles, trying to each ice cream before it melts all over them. You paint a very good picture of this with your words.

This is a nice lighthearted poem. I think the last line makes the piece. I can almost feel those fresh crisp sheets welcoming a tired body. I'm sure the ice cream was nice, but being tucked in at the end of a truly memorable day is probably even better.

I enjoyed reading your poem. I like the rhyme scheme that you use in your poem. I like how you ask questions. I like the flow as well.

I more light-hearted piece this...
your words painting a happy family
picture on the beach in summer - ideal.

The lines flowed well - all but the following, which I tripped over...

Gulls fly high on the wing, all are looking down at me calling can you see?
Gulls flying high on wing, all looking down at me, calling can you see?

what do you think? Flows a little more easily.

If this is the standard, your book will do very well. This has a very easy and nice feel to it. Indeed, straight from the heart. Well one. The imagery is perfect. Have a good day.

Good use of mono rhyme in this poem. I think all of us can relate to those carefree days of summer at the beach and yes the ice cream was the best.

This brings back fond memories of walks to the beach, carrying a tin pale, hand in hand, with just enough money for an orange sherbet, my favorite.

Nice choice of words and a perfect picture.

Thank you!

Perfect nostalgia. I think many will be able to identify with days like this as a child, when the world is perfect in every way and the day ends in sweet dreams of innocence. Beautifully written through the eyes of the child within us all.
