This is an exceptionally well written acrostic, RJ. Not an easy feat to write an acrostic of this heft, and make it this good. A virtual "shopping list", if you'll excuse the expression, of the stages of an individuals life, ultimately ending up at the same destination we all do, at death's dreary doorstep.

Excellent work, and it flows very quickly, with a great pace, when read out loud, as all poetry should be when being reviewed.

This is a very well written poem. It must have been hard to write in this style, but you did it very well. Your words flowed well and your descriptions were easy to understand. Well done.

Thank you for your kind words, for feeling how it flowed and understanding. It took me several days to put it together, then a couple re-writes. RJ

Hi RJ,

Beautiful acrostic journey, just as the title states, with just as beautiful artwork to compliment.

Always hard to accept the prospect of losing loved ones. We recently lost '6' family members within '4' months time. Far too many, and all from cancer.

Nice work with this one.

Cheers & Blessings
Keep Smilin'.... Jax ('/')

I like reading this style of poetry. Only form I like better is Haiku. Anyway, sorry to hear about this news. The emotion is evident throughout the poem. At the same time, this poem also hints at reasons for hope.

It is really sad that it takes the news of someones death to get us going. Maybe that's part of the plan. Great awakening in this. Loved the line about mystery wrapping each soul. Wonderful flow to this.

Beautiful use of words. You paint a wonderful picture. If anything I found this poem long, and read it in 2 sittings as I wanted to give it my full attention.....these days we tend to think/read in sound bites .....sad but true!

Thank you for reading my poem twice, even with the length. It is one of the longest poems I have ever written, but well worth getting my feeling out. RJ

Hi RJ, this is a very moving and haunting acrostic poem that you have composed for this competition, sadly, I can relate to most of your heartfelt words having recently lost my own darling daughter, this is a beautiful reflection my friend, I wish you lots of luck for the competition.
