children are always fascinated by their shadows which
you convey so charmingly in this well crafted poem with
strong meter and excellent rhyme and imagery.

I think she's done it again
Got inspired by the boy
But tonight I'm way too tired
To offer another verse
So I'll just say well done as always, Buck

You create the most amazing verses about the simple things in life and they become little wonders! Thank you for sharing, a delight to read.

Adewpearl, another gem; a joy to read and a live giving pearl for sure. The rhythm and the rhyme are great, the poem flows well. I didn't see any grammatical or spelling errors.
The interplay between Sawyer and the personified shadow is exactly what little children do. I bet he had a ball of laughs.

I have to say that I like to see a good strong shadow friend appear as well - it brings out the inner child (not that that's hard!) Haven't seen him for a while, though - the late winter weather is being unreasonably wintry! Hanging on a promise of some sun this afternoon!
Fun poem.

A-w-w-w-w, I liked this poem told with the point of view from a child who has discovered his own shadow. So cute, Brooke!
Good enjambment, carrying thoughts from one stanza to the next.
Good rhyming and approximate rhyming, such as regularity/me.
Excellent work!~:}

Light and shadow, not necessarily opposed but interacting is the message I took from this and I find it very interesting and a great sentiment! Best wishes, Brooke, Pete :)

As a child I remember "playing" with my shadow as Sawyer is here in the picture. Wonderful poem, rhyme and meter.
