this is a beautiful poem, brooke, an excellent write about the shadow that shows up when the sun in shining and makes your heart bloom with certain kinship. I enjoyed reading it and I love the picture.

I can't believe I'm commenting on a poem by you that only has four reviews ahead of me. You must have just posted it. Usually there are 50 to 100 people ahead of me. In any event, this is another beautiful effort by you. I wonder if you're inspired to write what you do by pictures of Sawyer, or if you write first and then have him pose to fit the narrative?

Thank you so much, Gerald, for your generous sixth star. Nope, no posing - my daughter takes photos and posts them to Facebook, and then I wait for one of them to inspire a poem :-) Brooke

What a nice poem, Brooke. I sure enjoyed reading it. The picture of Sawyer is perfect. Your rhythm, as always, is so good. Thanks for sharing. Miss Sally.

I would think Sawyer would love the play (or movie) "Peter Pan", I know I still do. Saw it once in the theatre with Mary Lou Retton as Wendy. Thanks for the memories and the smile today. Loren

Thanks so much, Loren - his mom has shown him quite a few children's videos but I don't think she has introduced him to that one yet. I'm sure she will since she is the world's biggest Tinkerbell fan - you can tell by the tattoo LOL :-) Brooke

I don't know how you keep doing this - it seems effortless, and flows so smoothly, but I know how much work you put into these rhyming quatrains. Of course I continue to encourage you to put these together into a book. It seems a shame that your talent is limited just to Fanstory, and not shared with children, as it should be.

Dear Brooke,
I enjoyed your "shadow Dance" poem very much. I think it's typical of a child's mind to think of what is not seen is just gone to another place. Great job with this one--Ted

thanks so much, Ted - I remember when Sawyer's mom was a little girl and she asked me where the plants and the pet went on her favorite TV show between episodes Brooke
