Another good one.
The joy of sweet surprise. Expressed well in the choice of subjects: the dance; fireflies; falling rocks.
The contrast development is good as the negative becomes potential for the positive.
Very good.

Hi there!
I'm new here, just my second day. Your title caught me and compelled me to read this piece. I am delighted it did. This is an excellent write! Technically, I cannot find a fault.
And the message is spot on. No matter how low one gets, there is always hope. If you give up hope, you sell your life short and deny yourself the chance for things better. You have said that so nicely in this poem. Loved it! Good luck ...

Darn--I just wrote you a nice review and FS just erased it before I could send it. So, let me say again that I really loved this poem with its perfect rhyme that just floats right along and with the message that you deliver in the last stanza. I also like your author's notes with happiness being personified as it (he) pops out of the bag. Sawyer is becoming quite the little blondie--so cute!

Connie, I hate when that happens, and with me, it inevitably happens after I've read a long prose piece and have left a long list of spag comments. LOL Brooke

Such a lovely, happy, eternally optimistic poem. You are so gifted with rhyme and meter. You make it look effortless and your work sings.
Yours is my first read of the day and one I really needed to read.
Feel that a bit of air has gone out of my balloon and my feet are a bit weighted down today. Robin Williams death has left me a tad flat.
I was surprised the effect that his death has had on the gerneral population ... friends and neighbors who are not normally concerned with Hollywood .. people who have never been to a comedy club or who can't connect names to the faces in the tabloids ... just ordinary folks ... but, somehow his comedy reached and touched them personally and his death matters to them.
I am sure that he had no idea of his impact.

I have noticed that too - everyone feels as if they've lost a personal friend. He made that kind of connection with millions of people. What a gift. How tragic that he could not feel embraced by that love enough to lift him up. I was actually thinking about him when the picture inspired me to write this. If one just lives to the next day, so often things change, or at least show the promise of change... Thank you so much, my friend. Brooke

I agree, Brooke, if one could just live until the next day ....

A very powerful and uplifting poem. I feel down a lot because of my illness and I love it when I read something that lifts me up. Thank you.

This is such a sweet photo of your little grandson popping out of a grocery bag. Kids have more fun with the odd things around then they do with real toys. Anyway, your poetry is always on top. Enjoy your writing very much. The rhyming is the best.

You never know, and never will
if you should close your eyes
to all the possibilities
that dwell in sweet surprise. ... ah, my dear Brooke. What a breath of fresh air you are!
You know your rhyming quatrains are perfect, as is the metre - so why comment on them? :)
