A great use of this picture. The things we do to our kids to embarrass them at their twenty first or their wedding. Yes, mothers have a lot to answer for:) Pete

What a great poem. Your words flow with a comfortable balance. Primrose path is a phrase my grand mother used to use. When i read it I found myself smiling. Thank you so much for sharinng.

My kids used to have competitions to see who's hair spike would fall first. Great way to hear from the other side about what and who is to blame. Great rhythm and the poem was fun to read. Gretchen

Hi Brooke,

That picture is a hoot. I keep threatening to celebrate my 70th by getting a Mohican ...

Nice use of the triolet (modified or other wise) form.

Patrick

Oh, that's so funny. I used to do that to my son, and then stick a mirror in front of him. He'd laugh and laugh! Good memories. *sigh*

A fun photo and a fun poem. A little lament, of sorts, shifting some blame onto Mom! LOL!

I enjoyed the wildly wildly modified triolet, Brooke. Thanks for the smile and the fond memories.

Av

Oh Brooke, this is so cute. the picture is priceless
and your Triolets have a childlike quality that fit
the picture perfectly.
Good rhyme and meter carry it along nicely for
a fun read.
He'll be ok as long as she doesn't show it to future girlfriends!

Nancy, thank you so very much :-) I've already advised my daughter that there is one huge pile of photos she has to lock away before he's that old. LOL :-) Brooke

Mama's can be so devilish. This type of photo is just what they love to use for threatening to show the new girlfriend if you don't get home in time or you don't do your homework or you wreck the car. Get the picture? (that's a pun, by the way) We take these and keep them handy to use ---works better than "grounding" or "lecturing." Ha Nice job on the poem..

Admire the triolet style for the theme. You keep true to the 8 syllable requirement. Poems from a child's point of view are vivid, silly and always manages to bring a smile to the reader's face.

By the way, Sawyer looks a bit like Alfalfa from the Little Rascals.

I'll truly try to just smile, not laugh! But how cute is this? Not the reaction he will have when he sees it at age 10! Thanks for sharing, your sweet poems always add a smile to my day!

Oh, those pin the blame moments. We have a similar shot of our son in the tub full of more toys than water. And now that you have posted the photo, just tell Sawyer a slice of the world is laughing with him, not at him- a shared "how cute" moment.

Thanks so much, ravenblack :-) Miranda makes his tub so entertaining that he loves bath time as much as playing in his playroom :-) Brooke
