You captured the essence of being rock bottom. Your poem uses all the metaphors and words to describe the emotional upheaval of sorrow and loss.
I love the ending.... gives hope in the form of the phoenix.
Excellent.

With all the disasters man faces right now - the Middle East, Ebola, Israel, the refugees at the Texas.Mexico, the Ukraine, I hope man can rise as the phoenix out of the ashes of fate. Remarkable free verse.

love the last line and the question it poses.
Yes you can rise. There is nothing that keeps a person down except himself.
A beautiful thought provoking poem

this is a strong, powerful piece
of free verse you've written -
your words, which are most
thought-provoking, flowing well
throughout.

This is so well written with so many great alliterations and descriptions, especially the line "still beating with loss of faith for humanity". Very powerful poem and image as well. I don't understand greek mythology too well, but I am impressed by this poem. Great last line, can we rise as the phoenix.

'What of this journey' is an extremely well-written and soul-searing piece. Not for a moment would I attempt to answer this talented poet's rhetorical question. It was a pleasure to review a work of this standard.

This a great poem. Oh!, to be trapped in dark nothingness with only your pain as a companion. I have heard that this is the best place for the poet to be as from this agonizing mental state comes our best work. You have beautifully captured this feeling in your poem. Best wishes.

I took this to mean the fate of the world, not just a person. It is easy to wring your hands as you watch the news. Everything seems to be spiraling out of control. I have no idea if that's how you meant it, but it's what came to mind for me. Great poem. Very beautiful.

This is such a poetic piece depicting some emotional travail and turmoil, with this deep lines jumping into my face "Karma returns, past evil dimensions; revenge,
Forgiveness of undying love chastised, but cast aside," This is rather deep and thoughtful.

Hello Deepwater,
It nicely depicts the belief of RC Church.
Wording is impressive and perfectly matching the theme having its own rhythm and lively imagery.
Picture enhances beauty of the poem.
These lines are particularly noteworthy:
"Karma returns, past evil dimensions; revenge,
Forgiveness of undying love chastised, but cast aside,
Traumatized in mind, revolving dreams at rest, revisited."
Excellent!
