This is such an accurate depiction of childhood summer love. I am also of the "Moody Blues" era. Thank you for the trip down memory lane, which of course makes this such a delightful read.

Very nice and I can reflect why back when, before I was married on meetings and first kisses. I like the way the picture is presented also. Good work!

Love it, I always Love love sad poems. Remembering past, bring nostalgias feelings. Warm, yet sad feeling, Your poem flows nicely through the past memories. Amazing what words can do. Great Job ;)

Whoa, Moody Blues reference here...will have to find the track and play it today!

I actually have "one" that walked away and I remember to this day. Amazing how the heart and mind meld at times.
Nicely done, and a very enjoyable read. Made me think about those years gone by. AT=/

How many of us can still remember our first love, I am sure there are many who don't. This was a well written poem that will take many back to fond memories in their lives. This was well written and reads smoothly... John

I remember those days. Those are the days of my childhood, when the dream ended in tragedy for my friend. Yes, I remember. Well done.

I remember those crazy, lazy days of summer romance when the world was beautiful, before our innocence was taken by the reality of life. This is beautiful and perfectly written. Giving it the six it deserves.

"Summer loving had me a blast, oh yeah
Summer loving happened so fast,
I met a girl crazy for me,
Met a boy cute as can be,

Summer days drifting away,
To, uh oh, those summer nights"

grease says it all:)
thank you for sharing!

this is beautifully written my friend even though every line is not rhyming as those ones purely carry into the next rhyming line. I love this style of writing thanks for posting

I remember my first love as if it were yesterday, I was 7 she was 6, there were a few more since, we moved to another country, I have wondered whatever happened to her, her name was Jean Hughes, I loved your write, it was articulate, well expressed, well done, blessings, Roy.
