We find possibility in the hope for tomorrow. Sorrow will follow, as we all know. This is beautiful and truthful in all the words.

and sorrow's such a needless way
to waste away life's passing --
How very, very true. So many people are so focused on the negative, they fail to see life's possibilities. A good write, my friend~Debbie

I really liked this well constructed, well thought out poem. Just enough rhyme to keep the rhythm and pace flowing nicely, making it a pleasure to read.

Hi Brooke I enjoyed reading your poem, I do believe that children will always appreciate the time and love they get more than anything else.
The creative picture is making the statement clear.
Well written

Such a lovely, hope-filled poem, Brooke.
And you know, I do agree.
Just got as tub of garlicly love from the server at my local Middle Eastern restaurant. He always gives extra garlic sauce without charging me the requisite $ .50 . And, I always feel that love. LOL
I do know that if we are open, love is all around us.
I see that your muse is in fine fettle today. Am sitting outside with my Ipad reading your lovely poem. What a treat.
Hugs, d

extra garlic sauce, that says love to me! :-) Sawyer went to the aquarium in Long Beach yesterday and had a great time. The saw a pod of dolphins out in the sea after they got off their boat ride, and he was just delighted :-) Thanks so much, Diane. Brooke

Ouch. If I'd not been a total teenage fool and paid a little attention to miss B.C. I am sure my life would have
gone smoother. Which has nought to do with your excellent poem.

Once again, you've sent an important message, in a perfectly metered poem. I thought of you last week, when I was buying a gift of books for a friend's 1-year-old granddaughter. I wished I had a book of your rhymes for her. I truly believe there is a market for them.

Yes, I agree with the sentiment of these words.
Perhaps the poem is more adult than the image depicts, but lovely, true words none the less.

CG, thank you so much for your generous response to this poem. Yes, the photos inspire the poems but are not always intended to be about the photo in a literal way. Brooke :-)

This is yet another lovely poem that the author has created with this piece of writing. This is full of contemplation and soul searching. It makes the reader think.

I adore the end - the reference of love thriving when those in question just ask and want to be loved. It is a wonderful theme.
