I worked that out before I read your poem. The picture really illustrate your theme. but one needs a perceptive eyes to see the extraordinariness in the humdrum stuff. The same with people-if we only care to see ,we can notice the superiority of the so called ordinary people.
Loved the theme ,especially as it comes as questions from a child. Many adults wont be able to answer that.the rhyme and the beat enhances the enjoyment of the poem

Dear Brooke, Nothing is ordinary when the kids are Sawyer and Gracie's age. They think everything is delightful. They find happiness in everything. I love your poem. I really like the repeating lines. Thank you for sharing, Shirley

This is just an ordinary poem which with words and picture
make it extraordinary. They say we should stop and smell the roses. True, but there are so many extrordinary things we take for granted, when they, too, should be given attention. I thought my daughter Gina, was the only one who looked for worms. Any she finds go in his garden boxes.

Lovely poem with great thoughts, Brooke. No day is ordinary when you have love to give and share, and all the delights of the world are at our fingertips.
Smiles,

I think this is what you call overthinking things but I like it and thought it was thought provoking because it makes you think about each thing that you maybe wouldn't normally think about

THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL POEM.NOTHING IS ORDINARY ABOUT THE THINGS CREATED BY GOD. EVERYTHING WAS MADE FOR A SPECIFIC PURPOSE AND MAY APPEAR SIMPLE BUT IS VERY MUCH NEEDED FOR WHAT IT ADDS TO THE HARMONY AND SYNCHRONY OF THE ECOSYSTEM. GREAT JOB!

A six star review from me on this one, adewpearl. What's ordinary, what's ordinary, extraordinary? My world is that too. I get overwhelmed by some of your work. This is one that somehow touches me. Marion.

Great rhyming and flow. A great well written poem. The natural element theme of the earth made it almost classic. Good job and thanks for sharing your excellent work.

I am not sure how I missed this one, Brooke! This is another thoughtful poem -- one for children and adults, alike: nothing is ordinary.
I like the repetition of 'What's ordinary. . . . ' in each stanza. Your alliteration and enjambment are well done. I love the imagery of 'where on the grass the dew is pearled.'
Thank you for sharing your talent with us, Brooke. Alana
