Love the line about tuna jumping baack into the ocean,it ahs me laughing. Your theme of the child wishing his supper was different,is a great theme for children's poetry. I like the variety of food described and your smooth rhyming of words adds to the humor of the poem.

A delightful short poem about the gastronomic delights and banes of a small boy, my grandchildren are the same, my granddaughter could eat Macca's fries and Mcbites all day + the soft serve! a beautifully written verse in abcb rhyme with even meter! blessings! Roy,

Roy, thank you so much :-) Sounds like your grand daughter and Sawyer would do well on a date. LOL :-) Brooke

Yes a " Pygmalion " date! Love them to bits, functional small people aren't they? Roy.

HI adewpearl
This is the cutest of cute! And how so very true of all us mothers' so guilty of the same crime!
I think Sawyer is gorgeous when he forgives his mother of all these horrific crimes - that obviously his grandmother sees so clearly!
I enjoyed.
Marion.

Spoken just like the typical ungrateful American child. No matter how hard the mother tries, "this is disgusting!" the ungrateful kid cries. LOL. This is another masterpiece Brooke, and I do love it.

Oh drat! I hate showering 6* reviews on you when so many poets on this site crave but do not deserve them. I save me weekly six hoping in vein to find a gem by a striving youngster that deserves the honor of that sixth star, but such joy abounds as often as my joints do not ache these days in my ninetieth decade.
Here it is Friday and after this one i still have four unused 6* assessments.
What this site needs is a few more excellent poets.

Thank you, Pyrrho - if it's any consolation, I truly appreciate it :-) Do you ever read the poetry of Words. She is a free style poet, my favorite poet on fan story to whom I regularly give my sixes. And if you're looking for fantastic prose, there's Humpwhistle on whom I also shower sixes :-) Brooke

This wonderful poem and story is so funny Brooke, told I assume through the eyes of a very young child, there is nothing to fault as usual just a brilliantly perfect poem.

Oh, so very adorable. I love to read your poetry. It feels more like I'm singing and all that know me, realize that is not one of my talents. Ha Seriously, such a cute little story, especially the line about the tuna fish.
