I just had brunch with my 3 1/2 year-old granddaughter who had the same opinion of HER mother when the food arrived. Nothing pleased her except dessert. I really like the rhyme of "cower" and "cauliflower." A fun poem from a child's point of view, Brooke.

I am totally against all forms of pain...if it don't pop out...well, too bad. I have no intentions of labor pains again. Although I could probably put together something about the Labor Pains of birthing poetry. Ummm. Good idea Brooke, thanks.

Once again, you've managed to take an ordinary moment in Sawyer's day and elevate it with rhyme and your love into something special. I'll say it again (and again, and again) - I think you're denying children everywhere the chance to love these rhymes, too. Almost all of them (like this one) depict an everyday event children can relate to. This will also introduce them to the power of verbal expression and thus to reading and writing itself. I encourage you to consider it.
