Ten Dandelions.' What a wonderful counting poem, this lovely poem you have created here, is for children. As we are so much aware of being politically correct, it certainly replaces the obvious. Well done, Brooke.

I love dandelions :) I can't wait for summer to see them again. This winter dragged on long enough now. This weekend we need to do some rose bush and peach tree pruning :) This is another well written poem.

Great photo.
Magical,mystical, and fairy tale-like work.
Charming.
Reads well and makes sense.
Needs to be a poster and sold in Teacher stores because it belongs in classrooms and libraries.

You know what, when I was reading the beginning I was getting so sad, but at the end it was so nice that more dandelions grew! It kind of reminds me of life. There are many people, but when they pass on, they leave their seeds to grow and blossom - building a beautiful new world. This is such a beautiful poem and again, the words were well chosen. Wonderful piece of art!

This is such a delightful children's poem, Brooke. You have come up with some clever ways for each of the dandelions to take its leave. Very nice choice of color scheme and, of course, your poem was a pleasure to read--just floated along beautifully.

Thanks so much, Connie - thinking up ways to get rid of things in these countdown poems is a real challenge - counting poems take two times longer than any other poem :-) Brooke

Dear Brooke,

The seeds spreading are the ban of people with lawns.(LOL) This has some funny rhymes since I've never seen a Jay or rabbit eat a dandelion. I like the oak that made wine for the wee folk. I imagine a thimble barrel was all that was needed. Anyway a whimsical fun poem.

Warm regards,

Winslow

What a fun and imaginative counting game for children. Dandelions are fantastic blossoms that have entertained children for many ages.

Brooke, those dandelions can multiply. We shouldn't
be sad too long. Great job on these rhyming quatrains.
I also like the background color and font color. All
comes together nicely.

Loved this poem absolutely loved it! Especially the twist at the end of the explanation of how the last dandelion shared its seeds with the world creating more dandelions! I didn't see that coming and thought that was brilliant! This is reminiscent of the poem 10 Little Monkeys and would be wonderful to read to children to explain about how new dandelions are formed! Excellent flow and pace to this poem it really made me get drawn in to the world of the dandelions and feel for the withering dandelions, but the ending had me rejoicing for the new growth of the future ones! Excellent photo to accompany this piece and excellent choice of background color to symbolize the grass where the dandelions grew. I thought the word choices used in this poem were rich and imagery laden (homage, voracious, imbibed) helping the reader clearly envision the 10 dandelions and the fate each met. Excellent use of alliteration throughout as well! Just a wonderfully designed and intelligently written piece of poetry deserving no less than a six star rating!
