Wow Dean, this poem, is so beautiful with the picture , of course your description are amazing as usual. Still I was able to compare it to life stories, what one looses, we should find a way out, no matter what happens during a life time, one should not give up even if its a catastrophic
situation. Beautiful Dean. Love Terry xoxo
My stars from Montreal, will shine above you. xoxo

I love the sea and the sound of it, so I really enjoyed this one, Dean. I loved the illustrations, they are really, Deanish! LOL. Ghostly, creepy, and really well written, but a little sad at the end. I loved it!

phial, you took me to my dictionary with this word: broad flat vessel. Oh my how on Earth do you get the sound effects? You presented a perfect package.

Another great poem. I don't know where you get all of your ideas, but you never seem to run out of them. I do enjoy the posts and look forward to the next one. Great picture, by the way.

Dear Dean - I loved your presentation in this work. Your poem so full of those moments we all have lost at sea at times. I enjoyed your word imagery, well crafted and solid writing. This one made me pause after the initial read, and then go back for more. I loved it, I also loved the sounds of sea and creaking ship devoid of life.
Thanks for sharing,
Maureen

We do all get on that vessel sometimes. It's our choice to go into the storm or take another path. Dean, I love the picture behind - now every one is going to be jealous of that:) Wonderful poem but I guess I didn't have to say that as the stars say it all!

This took FOREVER to load. I almost didn't wait.
Scary Dean. I found the last two stanzas to be engageing.
The presentation is over the top as usual. Wish I knew how you do that! LOL Well done as usual. Best wishes. Nancy

Night drops black orchids - excellent. Reminds me of the lotus eaters , Mr. Coleridge. I like the subtlety - reads as if the dying/dead crewman is already in another realm or just in the state between. Good choice in not showing the helmsman. I know you probably have, but did you read The Watchmen? The interwoven tale of The Black Freighter?
