I liked the symbolism of your words, it is most probable that many people have skeletons stashed away in their closets and take them with them to their grave, just as the person in the poem did. Great choice of words and imagery, with clear message. Enjoyable read, liked the pic a lot. Faye

free verse 'Skeletons.' This is a strange poem you have created here, but I quite liked the narrative and I thought it was well thought out. Well done.

Hey girlie, some time ago, I also wrote about this subject. But what he kept closed finally came out when someone who cared held him, and then all was cleansed and he was free. This poem of yours, so wonderfully written, will never tell the truth so that she could have been set free, poor girl. So into the grave, her secret remains, and hopefully forgotten. Very, very well written, and I really enjoyed. . .Sharon

Yes, we will never know the truth now. My mom died with her secrets inside her. Her brother and sisters have also passed. There is no one left who knows everything. Thanks Sharon for the great review. I appreciate it greatly as I know you don't have a lot of time for reviewing.

Teresa, I have time here and there, but can't stay up until 3-4 a.m. anymore. It's insanity, lol, and hubby can see that I don't sleep anymore. I'm looking for another place to post for no money, so if you know, please tell me. I'll come here to review at my leisure so that I don't have to rush anymore, and can get back to some TV, lol. Have a great evening...Sharon

Skeletons in the closet are a menace always trying to get out.
However we must thank Good that all we have to do is ask pardon and once we mean it our sins are sent to the sea of forgiveness and as far as the east is from the west.
lovely poem and thought provoking too

I love the little graphic. This is a great theme for a poem. I don't know why we don't see it more often. This free verse reminds me of my grandmother Della who lived a 'bad girl's" life and remained one we would know little about.

Isn't it funny to think of grandparents as being a 'bad girl' but my Mom too was also a bad girl I think in her younger days. Thanks for the great review:)

Oh, this is such a mixture of funny and sad. Secrets never shared? Lies never told? Truth never exposed? Skeletons are still there in the closet keeping their secrets safe, and moving on is the only option, well done, Giddy

Your poem is presented very well. It flows nicely and reads fluidly. I understand some curiosity, especially that of a loved one. But what I'm "curious" about, is why would anyone want to know something that another person does not want to share? If they wanted to me to know, they'd tell me. Just sharing.

Thanks for your thoughts on this. I guess I want to know because it is a part of my family history. Thanks for the great review:)

You are most welcome. oh, I understand, it's just that there are things in all of our family histories that we will never know, and there's the possibility it's for the best. Take care.

Wistful poem, longing to know what lied behind her silence,(your mom?)...some things are better left untold, I guess we all have skeletons...this is chilling, in a quiet, desperate, silent way...excellent...Blessings...Judy

Lies buried and bound with fear.
Links to past enthralled.
Love me now. Though left me dear.
Life to death was trolled.

Nice poem. Death does not bury all skeletons attached to one life.

A very emotive free verse poem, Teresa. I suppose lots of secrets get buried with their key holder, never to be revealed. It never stops us from wondering the truth.
Smiles,
