Excellent!! You could not show more pride than this heart felt poem. I think the little tyke would even like this one. I don't know where you come up with the fancy names, but they sure make the reading fun!

Gargantuan, thank you so very much for your thoughtful and generous response to the poem. As for the names, they're half from working really hard to get the syllables/inflection right and half from inspiration. Brooke :-)

OMG Brooke, when I saw Sawyer at the bottom of this picture, I laughed myself sick! I had work to do on the comp, so came here just to look around and found this. Of course, I had to read! He looks a little scared, but when I read what he did, I take that back. What a strong and brave little man to do all that he did! When I'm in trouble, may I please call on Sam? I know he will protect me and keep me safe. Bravo to Samuel Hill because he's my hero. . .Sharon

Thanks so much, Sharon. I asked Miranda what was going on in the picture that he looks so terrified. She told me how clever she was in capturing the shot. Just at the second she snapped the camera he was calling out her name, Momma. She got the shot during the second, open-mouthed syllable. LOL :-) Brooke

LOL, oh what fun, and Miranda sure is good at taking pictures! Thanks for letting me know how to add picture, and when you have time, I put my daughter on my Profile page! I think I did okay, lol. And for that last post, I did that also, so I'm getting there, and all because of you! You did good, and should post the info you gave me on the Forum...Sharon

Oh my, the Cute Little One against that big dino. The creature doesn't stand a chance. He's about to get an attack of cuteness :) This is another gem of a poem.

As usual a lovely flow of words with good mono rhymes in each stanza.
Loved the presentation and I know that the children will enjoy reading this one

Samuel climbed to a mountain top,
right to the cliff where the waters drop --
Say what you like without a word lopped,
no one but Sam makes waterfalls stop.
Hi Brooke, Can you ever go wrong in writing any poem? no no no.
Even children's poems you make sound so beautiful, you have a way to rhyme your poems, that is unique my friend, and little Sawyer watching the bear, so so cute. I just read that you mentioned Pasadena, do you live in Los Angeles, Pasadena? because my son leaves in Burbank, and I visit him every year during Christmas , if yes, maybe we can meet and have a coffee, if yo want. Hugs Terry xoxo

Thank you so much, Terry - I live in Pennsylvania, but my daughter and her family live in Encino, which is near Pasadena :-) Brooke

Very good, it sounds like Samuel Hill either a god or at the very least superman. Great little tale, it was well crafted and entertaining. What a guy.

Yikes! LOL. Oh Brooke, I LOVE the meter in this - it's just so rollicking - so much fun! You are amazing (and I'm running short on eloquence to tell you. LOL)
I LOVE this!

Cute poem. Sounds like he's a pretty tough nut, that ole' Samuel Hill. Lol. Akin, I think, to Paul Bunyan. Good little story here. I think kids would like it read to them. I know my little grandson, Jeremiah, would. Flowing cadence as always.

You can say what you like about sweet adewpearl
There's times when her poems will make your hair curl
Just mention a topic - she'll give it a whirl
And Sam Hill's got nothing on this Yankee girl.

Now Sam is a pretty powerful person
he can tame bears, stare down a dinosaur
stop waterfalls and rope a platypus by the bill
His full name is Samuel James Nehemiah Hill
I usually chuckle throughout your poems, this one is no exception. Well done, Carolyn
