Nicely rhymed aabb poem on Lord Krishna.
It was an interesting historical piece and the rhythm made the piece flow.
I did have to look up "extirpated" lol
If only history could be taught in this format.
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us!

The way you described Lord krishna's life in the shape of such a beautiful poem is extraordinary. Having it translated in Sanskrit and making of it a beautiful chalisa or Bhajjan would be a good idea too. Great and inspirational job!

An informative poem about Krishna, though I would need a little more to understand better. For instance, when he was taken from the jail, was he still a baby? Isn't he often pictured as blue? Those questions do not take away from the worth of your poem, in fact your poem is an inspiration to learn more and an example of how little most of us know.--Elaine

Hello Skylight,

In reply to your Questions: 1st,He was taken out of the jail 'the very night he was born'. It's implied. Please see the same stanza i.e. 5th stanza. 2nd, Yes, as blue - 'the pure color of a clear sky'.

Glanced at a copy of translated Bhagavad Gita, classed it with Koran and Book of Mormon and Book of the Dead and
Lost Books of Eden and moved on. Which has what to do with
your excellent story poem?

This is so interesting! You told this story so well in the poem format, with excellent rhymes that are not forced at all. The aabb rhyme scheme is achieved beautifully, which is not always easy to do. Hugs, Lou

Our poet seems to relish his rhymes and presents them with aplomb though sometimes at the expense of the cadence. The poet sketches a legendary figure who lived a heroic life. I'm not sure what his message is though he promises us the taste of bliss. If our suffering is due to our flaws and shortcomings, Lord Krishna is a shining example of human perfection. I think he saw life as a meditation. -Ekim777

Good poem with a good picture, and also a good message about this great Lord. Good word flow and rhyming as you tell his story.

You presented your interesting poem nicely with appropriate artwork. It was educational, though I couldn't answer an exam question on it! It is always interesting to learn something new about these gentle people, and I wish you good luck in the competition, Giddy
