This little shortie is well written. It is so true as it describes the quick passage of time when you are grown. I like how you have presented this. Good job!

Oh, this is certainly true. When I was working, the week went on forever. Now the time flies from Sunday to Saturday. Maybe it's because the young people have a lot more to anticipate and can't wait to get to it. "Flies like the proverbial bat" is a great way to put it. Well presented with beautiful artwork. I could go for being 21 again. judi

I agree with your words. Time goes so fast especially after twenty-one. I love the photo you chose to go with your presentation. Sometimes, it would be nice to turn back the clock. Awesome, Moonwillow

Ah, your words are so true! It seems to go faster and faster as the years go by. One minute you are welcoming your new baby to the world, and the next you are celebrating the eighteenth birthday, or so it seems. Well done!

Very true... and very sad. There should be a brake pedal on all calendars. I liked this poem. It was direct and to the point.

This is very true.
I completely agree.
After 21 yrs Christmas just seems to arrive quickly. It's like once you are in August the year is over.

i wouldn't say 21, though. one is young, he's young, still very young, and then bang - 25 th birthday and suddenly no fun in life, the one is old :-)
nice and witty poem though. so much said in so few words - quite an accomplishment.

I'd sooner be 20 again, 'cause your right, it did fly from 21 on. But 21 was a good year too. Your verse is short, but sweet and offered a nice look back. Kenny

Time seems to drag
until we hit twenty-one... then
flies like the proverbial bat
Not a haiku but a profound small poem about aging and time.
Excellent.

Yes we all just can't wait to grow up so we can do whatever we want to do. It seems to take forever to get there. Then we wish we could go back to when we did not have the responsibilities that we now have.
