How well I remember those days. When I was young and thought in September that Christmas was so long in coming. Now in September, I think, 'Oh my gosh, it's almost Christmas and I haven't even started shopping.' Lol. Anyway, your poem tells it like it is. Time is a roller coaster ride--slow at first, going up, but gangbusters from then on.

Hi Moonwillow,
I believe you've captured the quickening of time with this limited poetic snippet... I know I'm aging just reading this... did I really need reminding? Great job and wonderful construction... an enjoyable read... thanks.

With our thoughts we create,
a time warp,
James xx

Hahaha, I couldn't agree with you more!
I noticed years ago, as I got older, time started to go by more quickly. It's actually quite scary. I am only 33 but it seems like yesterday I was 25.......

Great job, lol! I love it

Great illustration for this poem which conveys
A truth about time.
When we're young we want it to speed up - then
We get closer to death we wish it would slow down!

Oh yes, you have captured time/age perspective spot on! I love the final line especially because it starts with verbage that plays off the last word of the first line. Drag vs. Flies, and then using the bat cliché to represent the aged perspective is perfect, conjuring up terms that could apply to those of us well past our twenties. For example:
She's gone batty, or
That old bat!
Great job,
Jenny

Such a profound message in such few lines. I totally agree with the statement, and will add, "therefore use everyday wisely."
What amazes me is that the number of hours in the day never changes. It's definitely what we do with those 24 hours that matter, and will cause us to change.
It's all about perspective.

I can appreciate your point of view on life's clock but I disagree with the age. but that is just my life and it wasn't till I was a mom at 30 yrs,. that time now has gone by fast and I am wondering how many years are left.

To the point and true! I remember my mother-in-law telling me that on my 21st birthday - and not believing! But of course now I know it is true. You write well and encourage me to try a snippet myself before time has flown any further.
