This a great poem about connecting with self. The key to understanding is to know yourself. To be at one with all things begins with the quiet moment embracing the universe. I have read that the way of the haiku is a twenty-four hour a day experience. That is what I hope to achieve in my life. Thanks for making me think about the important things.

I've always loved thunderstorms and I like the way you described them here - peaceful violence - a comfort and companion..

Well done, Buck

It is sometimes hard to let yourself sit in silence and take in things around you. I like the storms 'peaceful violence' oxymoron. But a good thunderstorm that does no damage is a violent war of nature that creates peaceful flowers.

I also like the stumble with confidence at the end which we all have once in a while.

Keep writing

Your poem has a steady rhythm to it as if strolling along, which you state in your first line
"A walk, a pace"
I love the 3rd verse its structure is without fault
Clever tap dance at the end. Fred Astaire. LOL

Very nicely done, Victor. THe need to tap it... great ending. Here is a man who knows how to enjoy every moment of life, from his past to his present. He turns a stumble into a tap dance.... THAT is the attitude to cultivate, if you can. :)

You are sitting, reflecting on old memories of things that were important in your life. Nice imagery, well chosen words. I like the picture of the guards in London. Enjoyable read. Faye
