Ah! This has the cute factor all over it. Tender moments such as the one you describe in the notes are what make life so precious.
Love is gold, as you so eloquently state. The tender voice and cadence, along with the gentle rhymes make this endearing. You have a magical way of putting the simple moments in a memorable light that makes them something to cherish.

Hard to love when there's only one. Appreciated the story in your notes. I loved that movie too. Solitude is good sometimes as in meditation, but to live alone all the time is not healthy in my estimation.

I can imagine. I'll be lost when my husband goes. Hopefully, he'll be around for the next ten years of until I'm ready to go.

Thank you so very much, Linda - Sawyer is Miranda's reward for the most difficult year of her life leading up to his birth. I truly do believe he is an angel, and nobody ever deserved one more than Miranda :-) Brooke

I love the poem and the little story to go with it. What a great kid, and that can only come from having both great genes AND great parents, who were raised well themselves. Grandma, you have a right to be proud of them both.

Brooke: you know that a child is seriously loved and feels secure when he cuddles up to his mama. Miranda is doing a great job with that boy. . .making grandma cry and everything! Nice writing once again. Linda

This is simply beautiful and your note adds to it. Dorothy and I both agree. Just wish we could write something close to this. You are a great loving grandmother with great talents in many areas. Thanks for sharing his perfect post. Bob

You've done it again! This piece captured my heart & the way the message was delivered is genius. Everything seemed to fit, from first stanza to building the structure of the poem. The wording used assisted in the flow & the description feelings felt. Job well done! ;) CC

Well, this made me all teary eyed too. What a lovely poem and precious back story. Children bring the best out of us and give us reason to smile. Just marvelous work with this one, I enjoyed it immensely!

In this context, solitude looks lonely indeed. I particularly liked your second stanza contrasting the rainy day and rising sun. Those are the feel good kind of tears.
