My very best grade for this message of horror, showing great imagination and something else, also. I deemed it a great entry for a contest such as this one, until the last quatrain. That one struck a nerve in me, and it came with a jolt. You have scored deeply with this poem. Good work.

Thanks very much, Bill, I sincerely appreciate your complimentary review and encouraging comments. Those six stars are very nice as well!

I wish more voters in the contest felt as stronly about the poems worth as you do, as it is getting trounced in the voting booth. However, it was still great fun to write, and I was very happy with the result. I guess that's all that truly matters, when you get right down to it.

Thanks so much again, my friend.

This is definitely horror that's for sure. It is a great entry for the prompt. Great rhyme. Very vivid imagery. Good luck to you.

Well this certainly meeting the horror criteria, I could almost imagine Vincent price reading out these gory words at the end of a film,Great rhyming and rhythm, and a flow as good as the blood.

This poem captured my attention from beginning to end. The picture is incredible as it helped the author to come up with an amazing horror poem. Well done. Terry

Wow what a powerful poem, I was not expecting the ending, I was seeing demons or vampires. You had a great twist and I love the level of horror you created.

Thanks for the very complimentary review, pbroussard209. I only wish more voters agreed with you. I truly appreciate your encouraging comments just the same.

I never win any contests, I hardly ever enter them anymore. When I do its more because I want the challenge of writing something different than my expectations of winning. If you love what you wrote than that is all that matters. I loved it too, if that helps. :)

This is a rather morbid poetic rendering. But it is well written and flows well within its poetic voice. I found nothing to suggest in this poem, as it seems to be flawlessly written. I enjoyed reading this excellent piece of poetic art... John

Thanks very much, John, and since it was a horror poem prompt the rules dictated that the poem must be horrific and incorporate a horror theme. Hence, the morbid rendering.

I truly appreciate your kind comments and review, my friend.

A very creative well structured poem that scares one to the bone. I do love the macabre. The lady presented looks pretty hot. If I have to go, I'd like her to be the one to come and get me. Best wishes.

"Dead Dame", I believe you have the makings of another poem. You are most welcome.

This poem is truly horrifying from its brilliant opening to its disturbing conclusion. It keeps the reader transfixed throughout with its manipulation language and jarring imagery, lines nine and ten for instance, are particularly sinister. The artwork and musical background are excellent, though this poem is superb in its own right.Good luck with this masterfully macarbre entry.

Thanks so much for your enthusiastic review and six star rating, GangGreen, I really appreciate it. And while it is getting trounced in the voting booth right now, I still had a great deal of fun in writing it.

Thanks so much again, my friend. Much obliged!

This is a real horror poem both in conception and in delivery. Very well chosen horrific words so dreadfully put together to really create a state of fear and tremble. Good creative and ingenuity in this.

Thank you. I will admit I was sadly disappointed when I reread this and saw that you changed the last line. Ending it with 'suicide' is far more effective thank what you changed it to. I'm glad you changed it back. This is a fantastic piece for the contest, friend. Thank you for jumping in the fun. "Begging will never provide release." Wow. Great work. I wish I could figure out how you do the writing the words on a pic and still be able to post it without needing words underneath it trick. Maybe some day you'll share that secret with me. Best of luck in the booth, friend. Again, excellent write.

Thanks, Ron, I really appreciate that buddy! I changed that last line initially in response to a reviewer who stated it would be far scarier to the the readers decide for themselves who I was speaking about. However, as the many sixes started to drop off to fives, I realized, perhaps too late, that I should have stayed with my original vision in the first place.

Thanks again for your great review, Ron. And congrats on your win, the poem you wrote was truly terrifying!

I hope you didn't lose any votes because of it. Suicide was a better ending. Have a good one, D. We'll do it again soon, I'm sure.
